First off, the eggs are sort of hard to the touch and they are an orange color. Are these healthy eggs, and Viable Eggs?

2nd, I'd read that apple snails can't breed without two of them in a tank, male and female..... This apple snail we've had for several months, and in that time, she (?) has never come into contact with a male.... so why the eggs?

So according to the pics of the 7 day old eggs, I should have some snails in about another 7 days. Just peachy. And I wondered why I couldn't get any plants to grow... Hoover was eating them all. lol

Haha, I had a tank that was overridden by snails, and there was only one that somehow got into the bag when I bought a plant. It took a couple of months for the snail to reproduce and before I knew it, tiny snails were everywhere!

Yeah, but Apple Snails are considered desireable aquatic pets. I'll be getting 4 of them for myself, next week. I've never wanted to breed anything before, but I'm considering breeding these guys.

If the one the species didn't kill all my plants, I wouldn't have minded one in each tank, but after getting the first one and seeing the way it tore through my meager plants... Maybe I can get store credit for them once they're bigger. ^_^

please be careful when breeding snail as they can be overbreed and they will just overun your tank and it can start being a bit of a problem to try and get rid of. i have finally got rid of all my snail and have now got shrimps

Shaunza, I DIDN'T breed them... The whole point of my post was that she had never been IN a tank with a male while I had her, thus I was suprised and all that. I definately plan on seperating them -before- they become of breeding age.

One more Q: though. You know the plastic mesh often used for tank dividers? can an Apple snail breed -through- them? Mine go all the way to the lid, so I'm not going to worry about them going -over- it. ^_^
