Ive Got A Clown Plec!

Depending on which website you read, they either are or arnt good alge eaters! i havent really bought it for that reason (although is a bonus) but as its a small plec im sure i can find another kind of plec to keep him company.
Cant wait till he gets a bit bigger tho, barely an inch long but i wanna see him more!

there not an algae eater but do like a certan amount of veg and wood is a must in the tank beens its a wood eating species very cute plecs and congrats with having 1 but even when its bigger u prob wont see him a whole lot more lol very shy plecs

there not realy algy eaters they will eat wafers and pleco tablets but they wont touch algy on the glass but like the other poster says they need fruit vegetables and a piece of bog wood i had a pair in my 6ft tank and i only saw them once a fourtnight

you say they are not algae eaters and like veg but i got my two clown plecs a few weeks ago and have rid all my rocks of algae within a week (and they were pretty bad)
also when i put cucumber into the tank they hardly eat it
never see them on the bogwood and are always out and about
might just be my ones which are wierd
anyway great fish love dem

i as well have one who is very shy...i only see him when i shine my red flashlight under his driftwood. i dont notice any algae chompage but he devours cucumber...omg id love to see his belly after eating...literaly a 2cm thick slice is gone in two days
