Ive been thinking about dipping into the saltier side of life as Ive only dealt with freshwater, I know absolutely nothing about saltwater, I want to know if its that difficult to do, Im getting another 55 gallon to have a go at, will this be enough for saltwater?

I really like the look of those puffers but not sure of their requirements, How do you cycle the filter for saltwater?
Can you use the average filter?

I really need someone to give me a good lesson in saltwater to be honest Lol.

Help please?

 Dude, dont go marine, you seriously need to sort out your trops and learn more about them first!!

Please check out in the library or purchase either Paletta's the New Marine Aquarium or Jeffrey Kurtz's A Simple Guide to mini reefs.

55g is actually a great size for a starter marine system.

It's not that it's particularly hard, it just takes some more planning initially. A LOT more things can go wrong.

Whats not wrong with your trops? Im not implying you arent looking after them, you just need a lot more practise and time and research...

I believe your latest fiasco was the really sick convict... or perhaps the other post with a tank full of ammonia?

Or was it someone smashing a tank?

All your posts start with 'emergency, help, quick or what should i do?' type statements. One calamity after another.

Better off sorting out what you have and learning more about what you have got before starting yet another project... (along with your catfish project and your 900gallon tank and whatnot).

I see, I cant help it if I love to try things.

I've seen a 30litre marine, I'd just love the corals to be honest.

To be fair, I understand what MBOU is saying, from my own personal experience, if I had more than one project on the go at a time then none of it would be completed for a long time.
