Hi as I got my tank secondhand it probably a good idea I
Change the tubes, I was woundering is there is any colour
I should be getting for my planted tank or am I just
Better of with standard ones

Thank

hi
i get mine from lampspecs. The colour temperature is down to personal preference apparently
In my Rio i have a 6500K (=daylight colouring) & 4000K (roughly equal to Juwel 'warm light')
Stu

Like i said it's down to personal choice & yours may differ from mine.
If you've still got the Rummys & Harlequins, then we've got similar tanks.
IMHO the 4000K will pick up the orange of the Harleys nicely like it does with my Copper Ras
I have a Phillips 840 'cool white' & an Osram 865 'daylight'.With postage, last year, it came to around £12 from lampspecs.
They did have a discount code 'captain chaos', but i don't know if its still valid.
Don't blame me if you don't like the colours

Ok thanks for the advice, and I never blame any one advice is given and upto
The op if they take it or not

Many thanks I will look in to that set up and see if it will suit my setup
What ever I get I will live with as the ones I have, have started to go black
At the ends

Again many thanks

Ok from reading what each coulor tube dose that
Mix sounds ok, last question which bulb would you put
Where ie: front or back

Cheers

my Copper Ras spend most of their time at the front half of the tank (in the flow) so my 840 bulb is nearer to the front & the daylight to the back
My plants are growing just fine with both.

Ok I see your method, look at what suit where in your setup

Thanks again....

only kidding infact it looks much better and brighter i bet the old ones where a good few years old
