I have another Guppy (oddly this time the largest) who is being harassed by his other two male guppy tank mates, and he's now stopped eating.

Last time this happened a few days ago, I lost the fish concerned extremely quickly.

Everything else in the tank is happy as Larry...

pH 8 temp 25 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10 Ammonia 0

Help!

I should add...he has a LARGE chunk of his tail fin missing.

:byebye:

sounds like he is being bullies.Guppies need to be in a ratio of 1 male to every 2 females or they will become agressive towards eachother

seperate him in a small tank.Add some meilafix and stress coat

I think I've learned this the hard way...

All three of my guppies are males. :*)

His tail has been totally shredded now...but I have nowhere to put him!

Where is Tamworth? If I close enough I can pick him up and place him one of my numerous medication/hospital/isolation tanks.
You need to get about six females...five minimum.

Was worth a try! Sorry can't help more. It would probably do him good to get out of there. YOu could use a sterilised ice-cream tub if necessary. Ensure there is good air access and keep the temperature up using a non-flourescent spot light (like a desk light with a 60W bulb in works well). Make sure it doesn't get too hot though!
I'm not sure what else to suggest. Unless you can go to your LFS and buy a breeding tank/net that sits in the main tank as this will keep him separated from the others. The sooner you separate him the better.

In the interests of keeping the fish in question alive, I removed two of the male guppies, and replaced them with 1 female. My intention had been to add two, but my LFS only had one.

I've also, under advice from here, increased the size of my neon shoal from 4 to 6.
