Hi guys, its been ages since ive been on here! :(

i have a few questions regarding my 125litre marine set-up.

1) Its been about 6-12 months since ive brought my flourescent tubes, but is it really neccessary to change them unless i see a difference in coral health/algae growth etc. ?

2) I am actually NOT doing any water changes, and havnt for a good few months now, as everything is running fine as it is, the only thing i am doing is a scrape of the glass every 5 or so days, then the weekly ro top up.

therfore, if i am not doing any water changes, is it neccessary to add any suplements such as mg that would be in the salt, to encourage coraline algae growth(its growing a little, but not as much as i would like. ?

i may put some pictures up this week, as i have time off sixth form :)

thanks
Adam

Id change the bulbs. They deteriorate so slowly that you wouldn't notice!

you can easily get away with doing few waterchanges on a tank fairly lightly stocked. mag and calcium would help coraline. But never add anything you haven't tested!

Ok cheers for your help :) i'll go and get some more today!

i'll leave the additives then, as i dont really want to be testing for them,

the puffer is fine, healthy and happy(it seems) although, he hasnt grown much at all, im not sure what that is down to really, im feeding him until hes fat every day, maybe it just takes time, they can live to 10 years apparently, so i suppose he's still only young, should be about 1-2 now.

i'll get some pictures up this week, promise :)

thanks

Adam
