After receiving my 2.5 gal from BettaMomma for Hunter and Vince (thanks again BettaMomma. You're the best.) I had an empty Aquaview ready for the little girl I'd seen in Meijer a few days ago. I had called my son's friend who works there about her and he and one of the pet dept. employees hid her and started giving her anti-fungal meds. When I went to get her yesterday, the fungus was almost totally gone. (I promised the guys a ton of my "world famous" peanut butter fudge for their troubles.)
She is the tiniest little thing, but she's full of spunk. She had HUGE stress bars last night and this morning, but she is active and curious about everything and at the rate she is eating she won't be little for long. Her poor fins are really rough from being kept in a community tank at Meijer with barbs, tetras and danios. All that is left of her top fin is a little spike that makes her look like a shark. Her tail has had two big hunks taken out of it and now it looks like a pitchfork. She has a dark body and what is left of her fins are dark blue. She's such a cutie!
I named her Lita.
Well, bettas are like potato chips, you all know you can't stop at just one. They had the prettiest male that was a pale peachy-white color with pale turqouise fins. His tail has a big split in it where I assume he blew it out, but other than that he looks like he's in good shape. I actually felt guilty getting him because he was so healthy.
I didn't really have a place for him either. Right now he is living in 1/2 gal "goldfish" bowl, but I will come up with better digs for him over the weekend. His name is Edge.
I love bettas!
