I have been sitting beside my tank this evening, this is my happy space, No TV

Watching an aquarium is way more entertaining that watching TV, I spend hours watching mine.....and Fred Betta generally comes to the glass for a chat too (literally, he comes to the glass and starts mouthing at me whilst wiggling around like a demented springer spaniel) :D

No adverts or repeats with aquariums ;)

I can't watch television most of the time due to some scumbag using an electrical device that stuffs up my tv signal. Not a happy camper here.

I couldn't watch tv when I was living on the street and I missed out on a years worth of Catalyst (science show).
I couldn't watch tv in Mandurah after I got a place to live because the tv station sent the signal from Bunbury (80km away) and the digital signal used to get screwed up along the way.
I move up to Perth and can't get tv here because some turkey is making drugs or doing something funny with electrical appliances and that stuffs up my signal. I even bought the biggest tv antenna I could buy and still can't watch tv.

I used to have a really good tv signal pre 2016. I haven't watch much since then thanks to other people.

If I could train my fish to play baseball, soccer and hockey, I wouldn't need a TV. But the little ba&^%^s cheat. All they want to do is play their own sport, "spitting the poop from high in the water column". There are so many breaks between the action you'd think you were watching the NFL, with that.

I am becoming more tired by the day with TV. Cable is too expensive and the shows I like I've seen the reruns too many times. It really is a colossal waste of time too. Much better to sit and zone out watching the fish.

The important thing is to take out the phone and film the fishtank. Then put it on youtube so you can watch it!

Name them Moe, Curley and Larry. And then you can watch The 3 Stooges without a TV

@Colin_T
Can you keep fish in your new place?

For the tv, you may be able to buy a filter device to attach to your antenna lead to get rid of interference?
Can you buy a roku box to stream tv. Do you have wired internet service where you’re at?

No pets allowed. They don't even like my plant collection, which is kind of ironic because the place is full of vermin (rats in the roof, mice outside) and has bugs everywhere in it (ants, mozzies, flies). No idea how the bugs are getting in but presumably the bedroom window and front door. The real estate agent and owner aren't doing work orders to fix these issues so while rats chew on the roof timbers and crap on the ceiling, and there are dead bugs all over the walls and ceiling, I can't keep a fish tank.

It's also ironic that the real estate agent is worried about the fish tanks possibly flooding the unit even though there are tiled floors and the dry floor drain in the bathroom doesn't go anywhere. I can't wash the bathroom floor down because the drain doesn't go anywhere due to shoddy builders. And they are worried about the place being flooded by a leaking fish tank. If the drain was built properly, you couldn't flood the place. They aren't doing anything about the drain either.

I have a tv signal amplifier / filter and it doesn't help. Someone around here is using an electrical device that is interfering with the signal. The real estate agent isn't doing anything about that either.

The internet and mobile phone service in this area is rubbish. I haven't been able to use the internet properly for the last month because the company was doing work on something in the area. The phone is also affected by this and the phone itself is dodgy. There was meant to be internet in all these units but it never happened and none of the property owners care. Our internet here is hideously overpriced. I pay $30.00 a month for 10 gig of data on my phone. It's a freakin ripoff.

Wow, not everything that glitters is Aussie Gold Hunters then? I guess you must be somewhere in the outer edges of Perth.
I spent most of yesterday trying to catch the Scarlett Badis in my smallest nano tank shared with my Blue eye redfin rainbowfish.

The tank is fully matured now with a good growth of plants at the rear on both sides and the grass more dense.
Of course, catching nano fish in that situation is something demanding extreme patience and a fair amount of luck, as they dart into the wooden enclaves or hide deep in the plants. Got em in the end though and they are now in a breeding tank.

I live in the south eastern suburbs about 20km from Perth CBD. It's typical suburbia just lousy developers and real estate agents, and nobody in the government/ gov departments wants to do their job.

The block of land has 7 units and each has a garage that is barely big enough to fit a 4 cylinder hatch in. If they weren't so greedy, they could have put 6 units here and given each one a bit more room so I don't have to walk down the hall sideways and I could open my car doors more than 1/3 of the way. Greedy developers and shonky builders.

But as long as people buy them they'll sit back and take a profit.
Surely there's some sort of legislation that they have to conform to on new builds.

There's a building code that is outdated by 50 years and every time someone amends it, the developers kick up a stink and it gets amended again to remove the new laws.

eg: There are no laws about houses needing roof ventilation regardless of where you live. So when its 46C here in summer, the inside of the tin roof can reach 60C+. We have areas that are hotter too, including the Kimberley and Pilbara regions where it can hit 50C+ during the day. None of the buildings in those areas need roof ventilation or insulation on cold water pipes. You can literally burn yourself by putting your hand under a cold tap in summer.

There are laws saying new houses must have insulation in the roof, but this place is 2 years old and doesn't have it, and I can't find any government department who will do anything about it.

So whilst there are some laws, there doesn't seem to be a body that enforces those laws. And other laws that should exist, don't exist because the government is too gutless to say, these are the laws and you will comply.
