I have a 50gal tank I installed one aqua-tech 30-60, and one whisper 30-60. The whisper is ajustable, but the aqua-tech does not look to be. I do not have fish yet due to cycling process. Is this to much for my tank? I am wanting to get large fish, but I dont want to hurt them. I dont see any current from the filters but again I dont have fish yet.

extra filtration is always good. :) especially if you are wanting large, messy fish. why don't you drop something in the tank and watch where it goes, to see how much/how strong the current is?

I have a 10 gal tank with one a snail in it right now (cylcing the tank). I have two filters one set to low and the other is a non-adjustable one. The snail loves it! He will climb up the frill plant and let go and "fly" with the water current. He takes 2 or 3 "current rides" before stopping on the side of the tank or at the bottom.

Its so funny seeing him go round and round!

definately the way to go. If i could, I would (eheims are expensive though)

Think of it: More filtration=more filtration media=more beneficial bacteria=cleaner water=less frequent water changes
