I have 6 habrosus and one recently looks completely different from the rest in colouration, very noticeably so, but I cant remember if he has always been like this or has a illness
here are how all the others look

And here is how he looks

Cant decide if he is on the skinny side or not...He rests more than the others but then always has.
They have weekly water changes, nirtites and ammonia 0, nitrates around 5.

I am on complete panic stations at the moment as with my pygmies there was an epidemic and out of the 13 there are now 3 left (though havent checked their status today..) All other fish seem to not be affected but of course if there is something going on wish to nip in the bud.

I have posted this in the emergencies section as well to cover all basis incase there is in need of treatment. I think I can recall a lighter coloured one out the batch when first got but unsure if this pale...

Looks like an albino 1 to me but i'm still learning about cories. So wait for someone else to post something.

That is what I thought, but dont think he has always been this pale (or wouldve thought I noticed earlier!!!)

Surely if he was an albino red eyes would be present, It's possibly just a faulty gene that codes for colour, if he eats, and swims normally, I wouldn't worry.

As far as I am aware he eats normally, alot of my cories eat privately so sometimes hard to tell, I will ensure to keep an eye on his eating habits. He does rest on the bottom more than the others and would say he is skinnier than the others but not drastically so.

Hi Amy,

i think if the colourtion was so different when you bought them you would have noticed.... as truck said an albino would have red eyes. does he always have his fins down like that? all you can do is keep an eye on him check hes eating etc. if hes keeping away from the rest and sitting on the floor alot then my guess hes not too happy at the minute

No dont think he is that happy. I have isolated him to his own tank and sanctum for the moment and will see if he is still eating :good:

i think thats a good move, just keep an eye on him but he doesnt look very well to me (sorry to say)

yeah it is silly as there has always been a lighter one but because you handle them daily just wasnt sure if he had always been like that (others would probably say notice easier). Ive had a lot on my mind recently which isnt a excuse but hopefully I can do something for him, have started a bac treatment and here is hoping. I truly believe there is something in the water supply at the moment having spoken with various people around the area but what alternative do I have for water changes. I have a RO unit but think it would be bad to start messing with the PH and elements of the water..

i wish you the best of luck with the little cory :)

Hi lilacamy931,

I hate to have to say this but I don't like the looks of that cory at all. When their fins are down and they start looking droopy instead of perky, it's not a good sign. It's possible that he never completely recovered his health after the early illness in the tank.

I'm sure you'll do your best to help him recover and hope that happens quickly.

Thanks for that guys and thanks for that inchworm too, they really are like puppies arent they, when they get that hang dogged expression it is not great...Will let you all know how he fairs x
