Is This Really A Firemouth

firemout??I saw this on liveaquaria and I was wondering if this is a firemouth or not?

I'm not the best person to answer, but the markings do look about right. A lot of the juveniles I see in stores don't have the red throat yet.

thanks coreleon I have one just like it and at first I thought it was a convict but it didnt have the bars as much and had red on top of fins? Ill wait and get some moreo opinons

Could I keep them in a community tank?a pair?

It depends on what you want to put them in with. They are generally peaceful, but I definitely wouldn't do a pair...they can become quite nasty to their tankmates when spawning

ok so just him about 8-10 tigerbarbs 5-6 corys,maybe some danios and 2 bloivian rams would be okay??
Oh they would be in a 55g or bigger tank I am in the middle of looking for a tank

Sounds fine, except that if your thinking of smaller Danios, they may get eaten.

Make sure you dont get 2 male firemouths. They can get quite nasty.

ok so zebra danios are defiently too small?
What about 8-10 tiger barbs
4-6 corys
1 rubberlip pleco
1 firemouth
2 bolivian rams
4-6 red eyed tetras
