i know as a rule you shouldnt mix african/new world cichlids. but ive been looking at some of the africans and i love em. could you get away with having a sev in an african tank?

No matey, the sev wouldnt stand a chance. Mind you, what africans are we talking here, malawis? Tangs?

I wouldn't do it personally, they have different temperaments, water conditions and requirements (I'm presuming you mean mbuna).
