well the fuge has been set up a couple of months now, we just got a load of LR from a well cured tank with loads of copeopods in and have left it to it's own devices really.

noticed in the last week or so every so often all the fish start to go crazy like it's feeding time, then i noticed they're catching teeny tiny shrimp like things (so that's the copeopods right?)

wierd thing that i wasn't expecting is they seem to come in little groups not just one every so often, i'd assumed it's just be like 1/2 every hr gettign swept in, but it seems that there's a little influx of them at once then nothing for a while, is that right?

Yup, that sounds like what you should be seeing. Same happens to me with my wrasses and pseudochromis. They love chasing the amphipods

Are nitrates easier to control now?

tanks still recovering from the skimmer incident

i'm gonna do some nitrate tests over the next few weeks and monitor things and i'll let you know.

aside from the problems with the skimmer the tanks basically run itself the last couple of months, doesn't take hardly any work, just run off a bit of RO every couple of days
