Okay, so I got a new “Pitbull pleco” today and I just put it in my tank that has an algae explosion in it. It’s been a half hour and it’s still swimming quickly all over. Won’t stick to anything or hold still for a minute. Is that normal? The tank is cooler than my tropicals because my baby calvus are in there.

I think it’s really bugging the crap out of the calvus because it keeps running them over. Not attacking them or anything, but it swims over the top of them in its frantic search for… something. They’re all ticked off with their fins puffed now.

sounds normal - ours are always darting about ;)

they are calmer in a group (we have 5 in one tank and one that managed to evade capture in another)

He calmed down and is not the opposite, hiding in the sand.

Oohhhh, I wasn't aware they liked to be in groups. ARGH the LFS people!
