Evening people,

I brought a new anemone a few days ago from the LFS and it was all out nice and colourful now it seems like someone has sucked all the air out of it  . My poor little clowns are trying everything to get it open again, is this normal for both clowns and anemone? If so how long before it's better?

This is before it kind got super small

I have tried to feed it some coral food and it still did this to me   .

What sort of an anemone is it?

Anemone's do better in established tanks of at least six months old - right lets look at what could be happening

have you feed it and did it take it?
how are your water stats?
could anything be annoying it?

Anemonies fold in on themselves for a few reasons:

To poop, this usually happens a few days after feeding
to protect themselves
after dividing

The first time you see them do this is very worry, as they literally look like they are turning themselves inside out

Anyway, let us know the answers to the above :good:

Water stats are as follows:-

Ammonia-0ppm
N02-0ppm
N03-10-15ppm

When i feed it the little mouth on it opened and closed around the pipette and it seemed to take it all ok. The clowns had deceied to host in it within inly 5 minutes of the coral being the tank  . It has been in the tank over 3 days now and we feed it when we first got it to get it to settle where we wanted it to.

I was informed that it is a bubble tip anemone.

Buy some little frozen fish or uncooked prawns (once a week) - put them in the tentacles and watch him move it towards its mouth - fasinating :good: they do need more than cyclops though and don't feed directly into their mouth :good:
