Is this fish too far gone, and if so, what was the disease?

Hello,

I’ve had fish for a couple of years now and a few of them have been breeding in the last 12 months. One of the babies got to a pretty good size. As I was cleaning the tank a few days ago I noticed one of them swimming facedown and turning white on the tail.

I’ve isolated the fish and it has gotten worse. 24 hours ago I purchased fin rot treatment and have been applying that.

This looks severe and I’m worried I’m keeping the fish alive and it’s cruel. Can somebody confirm if this is possible to recover from (images attached)

Thank you.

Thanks, I was going to buy clove oil this morning and follow the advice but he died in the night. I’ll monitor the other fish closely, no signs of infection elsewhere.

Thanks for the help

in future if a fish looks off colour, post pictures and start a thread asking for help asap. the sooner we see it, the more chance of successfully treating it.
