no matey thats a cactus plec thats their natural colour

No - that is the natural colouring for the majority of L114 - though some are a little more orangy than redish.
But by and large, that's normal. That photo however was "taken" from another website and is not the photo of the fish being sold.

that's very hard to believe - if it's true, then buy them all!

What size were they and where were they on sale exactly?

that shop is the cheapest place i no in wales for fish
