Okay then, My usually pristine 60 litre has all of a sudden decided to go haywire and bloom in what I beleive o be black Beared Algae (BBA) however as I have never had this before, I would like confirmation, It is growing on my crypts and Vallis and java moss and gettin out of hand, feeding is every two days and minimal, lighting is 6 hours per day, No ferts dosed. Lighting is 1 WPG, current stock is 1 Baby Bristlenose, 5 White spot tetra, 5 Pygmy cories, 3 Ottos and 5 amano shrimp.

Please Help

Hi Phil, try dosing some ferts mate. This will encourage your plants to grow quicker and in theory use up more nutrients quicker and outcompete the Algae.

Worth a go! :good:

No problem mate, Cynic posted that he recently had an outbreak of algae and then started to dose ferts and the algae went away.
