Hey guys, a while back I had a huge bba breakout, which I managed to tackle the majority of it, for the most part, but there’s still remnants of what I assume is the on my plants. Particularly the anubias and buce where its choking the leaves and stopping growth.

It doesn’t seem to want to rub off and the way my tank is planted I can’t really remove every plant for a hydrogen peroxide bathe.

Do you think this is bba? Or some kind of insufficiency?
Any advice on things to try to get rid of the remainder of it?

Snails?

Cyano is easy to remove and is gooey, smells bad and is undesirable.

If it's tough and sticks solidly, it's Green Spot Algae. It's the algae of the healthy tank. It smells like boiled spinach... But will invade slow growing plants in environment with high phosphate and lower Co2 with a bright light, it's going to be inevitable.

A trick to protect the plants, besides lowering phosphate, light and raising Co2. Grow as much as you can on your glass it helps keeping the plants free of it.

Here is some BBA in my nano tank. I kind of like it. It is well contained.

Note that GSA will look a lot deeper green when growing on plants.

My first thought was GSA. Most likely cause is too much light for the slow growers.

I'm with you there. Over the years I have had a few pieces of wood that arrived with BBA and just left it. If the balance in the tank is right it will live happily without trying to take over the tank.

Thanks guys, from your answers I believe it’s GSA. It ajar sans does not remove easily, doesn’t t have the smell or consistency of cyno , and isn’t furry like bba. I will try reduce lighting for awhile and see if that helps
