This thing was visible very early on when I added the piece of LR that it's on. Initially it was translucent which would fit in with the poor light = pale colour that the info I have read is typical of Aiptasia. Over time it has grown, got much darker and is protruding further out of the rock.

I'm pretty sure you're all going to tell me it is, and that Seffie is going to tell me to take the rock out and fry the sucker. It's at the bottom of the rock so question is I know they can move about but will burying it bother it at all or will it just move?

it will more than likely just move id say fry it

Need a pic to be sure! If you damage it the bits of flesh all turn into more aiptasia'

lol yes it is. I used joes juice to get rid of mine. It killed it within minutes, totally reef safe and can be used in situe. No need to remove the rock!

my prefered methods of torture are
1 peppermint shrimp (i like them and its nice to helps ones friends :) )
2 Aiptasia X
3 pointy soldering iron and small blow torch.

I have 2 peppermints but they did not even look at the aips! Just left them and hid in the 48KGs of rock! :shout:

I have one as well

does aspitasia x damage therest of the tank corals etc?

no not usually but it has been known to nuke xenia (not always a bad thing :D )
TBH my prefered method (besides shrimp) is the scorched earth tactic, napalm the #28### to hell.

I have 4 peppermint shrimp who don't touch it, just hide all day.

Joe's juice all the way, it worked great for me :)
