Is this a worm on a shrimp?

Just above its right eye.
I’ve just bought 7 cherry shrimp and into the tank they’ve gone (note to self about quarantine).
Then I saw this thing on this little fellow…

Right, so confusion abounds and I’ve attached the worm-by-the-right-eye photo and a one-hour-later-after-salt photo which seems to show the worm gone?
What is happening?
And can you all nod appreciatively at the effort it took me to find the same shrimp in a tank of 7 red and white shrimp 🤣
 
Sorry you haven't gotten any replies on this matter, but it does appear that the worm is gone...for now, at least

Here is another photo of the “worm” in profile from earlier today. Just below his right eye, curving downwards like a horn. And a photo of his face now. It is definitely not there now.
What could it have been?
And could the salt have worked that quickly?
Do I need to worry about the health of my tank?
