Hi this is my first post in this forum so hi everyone. I recently acquired this fish and was told it was a green terror but I'm not 100% as some pictures on Internet look different to mine. If anyone could have a look and possibly tell if it's male or female it would be a great help. It's around 4" inch. Thanks in advance.

Chris

looks like a blue acara possibly female, very poor colouration though :( the lack of colouration on the fins it could possibly be andinoacara (aequidens) coeruleopunctatus, quite often mis-sold as blue acara and green terror. It should have some black facial markings under the eye.

Thanks for the reply, it was given to me as the previous owner had a very small tank, I wonder if it'll get better colouration in time, it's only been in my tank a day but just wanted to know what it was I had :)
Here's another pic if it's any easier to identify. Thanks again, happy new year

After watching him/her for 24hrs I've decided his temperament does not suit the tank, so I have donated him/her to my lfs. Thanks for the reply though.

:), spotting the stunning little frontosa I was about to say it wouldnt mix well with tangs

Thanks, the frontosa is my favourite lol I thought I'd try and take the green terror??? In just so it didn't go down the big white bowl but at least I give it a chance lol anyway he has another home at my lfs now, best for us all in the long run.
