Recently I lost 2 tanks (1 with an oscar another which had an ich breakout) and with the poor water condition (highly low pH and small ammonia presense) which I am still correcting in this tank. Naturally I am pritty paranoid right now. But I am worryed for a small cichlid in my only remaining tank.

It has a small gray type thing like skin around it's head, and it doesn't look too good. But I have seen something similer in pictures of them. It looks almost like a small cobweb (spelling?).

He's eating, but he's been activly fighting with the other male cichlid in the tank. The fighting has caused fin damage but he's still been eating so I havn't been too worryed.

I am worryed because a similer thing appeared on my oscars head shortly before she died.

It could just be an injury from running into something but I am concerned in anycase.

I am posting this now and will edit it in a few minutes to add pictures once their on the computer.

EDIT: Added Pictures and Video

High Res Picture of skin weirdness
High Res Picture of skin weirdness at different angle
High Res Picture of skin weirdness side view
Low Res Video of hiding and not looking so good
High Res Video of skin weirdness taken after second video, moving around

EDIT: Now that I think about it, he might be dying of old age, he's about 5-6 years old!

...maybe...

I honestly don't see anything. However, what you're describing sounds quite a bit like sliminess of the skin. This is a disease that can infect the fish skin in patches or, eventually, all over. It is caused by a parasite, and can be fatal if untreated. If your fish has anything, this may be it; it may also be the cause of death for the last fish.
