Is this a 29 tall or long?

Hey all.

I'm trying to figure out if my tank is a 29-gallon tall or long. I've looked around and can't find measurements for the two. Can someone tell me what my tank is, please? Here are the measurements: 30" long X 12" wide X 18" tall.

I thought so Perhaps they don't, though. The person I got it from was always referring to it as a tall though, so I assumed they made 29s in talls and longs and wondered about the measurments on the two.

Do they make 55s in talls and longs or do they just do that with ones like 20s?

This is a bit confusing. As you and elite noted, I am pretty sure that the 29 gallon only comes in one incarnation, which is the 30 x 12 x 18.

There is also the 30 gallon tank, which is 3 feet long. The dimensions of that tank are 36 x 12 x 17. Slightly different volumes, but a rather significant difference in length.

AFAIK, 55 gallon tanks are limited to 48 x 12.5 x 21.

There is the 50 gallon tank, however, which apparently comes in two different dimension sets: 36 x 18 x 17, and 48 x 18 x 13. This has the advantage of being versatile, as the difference between a 55 gallon and 50 gallon is trivial, whereas there is a marked difference in length and depth in the 50 gallon tanks. They appear to be more difficult to find than the 55 gallon tanks, however.

Yes I have that 30g tank, which is 3ft long... So in theory, it is possible to have 29g long, which would be about 36x12x16...
