Is There Something Wrong With My Dwarf Neon Gourami?

I have a dwarf neon gourami and all he does all day is swim backwards and forwards across the back of the tank, or up and down the side! Is this normal? He doesn't blow any bubles at all but he does occasionaly "spit" water out of the tank.

Any advice would be appreciated.

All of the water tests are normal and the temperature is between 25 - 26C.

Have you had him long? New fish often do this.

Also, are there any plants in the tank? Gouramis love plants to hide amongst - especially floating ones.

I've had him for about two weeks now.

I have a few artificial plants and had planned on buying some more artificial ones and some live ones this weekend.

Are there any plants in particular that my Gourami would prefer?

I gather then, with some more plants and some more time he will settle down a bit? How long do you think it will take?

My Dwarf Gourami male LOVES hornwort! I got some thick bushes in the 37g and he is constantly building bubblenests.
