Is There Any Type Of Pleco That Will Fit In A 24 Gallon Tank?

Is there any type of pleco that will fit in a 24 gallon tank?
I'm scared they will grow to large or stunt.

A bristle nose pleco would be fine in a 24g tank they grow to 4"-5" so dont get to big

Most hypans are smaller and would be fine. Pitbull plecos are also small but don't look so great. What do you like in terms of diet and appearance?

I need something that will eat the algae in the tank.
Obviously I prefer better looking, pitbulls aren't that bad, I'd actually prefer them than something brown and dirt colored.
I really like something that looks like a zebra pleco but eats algae.

you will also need to feed them specific food and not just rely on the algae to sustain them.

I recommend a BN. I've got one and it's got loads of character. It's always out during 'lights on' as well so I get to see it feeding and charing around the tank.

you gotta remember that any mess that a pleco takes off the glass it will double in waste on the bottom.

mix it up you can use either or both

even if there IS algae, you will still need to feed them regularly with wafers/veg. Try to think of the algae as just an additional snakc for them, and not the main part of their diet.

would be good to get a piece of bogwood as well. They like to chew on that and it aids their digestion. It doesn't have to be a big piece, just so long as there is some in the tank.
