Please could i get some opinions on the following statement
"generally speaking, nitrates are for growth, phosphates are for healthy root growth, and potassium is for the healthy appearnce of the plant and help flowering"
Can anyone comment on the validity of this statement, as I am interested to know if it's true, because my roots are good, growth is good but one plant in particular is not looking great even though its growth is good.

in a nutshell that statement is true to a point, other than the flowering part for most aquatic plants. Plants need N and P a lot more than others give credit for.
