Look around online see what you com up with, Dont compromise with a tank stand the last thing you want to find is your new tank in pieces on the floor in a pool of water and a load of dead fish. You could look around for a deal offering the tank with a stand included which may cost a little more but it is worth saving for and shouldnt be more then a $100

I think using a wee bit of common sense anyone that's seen a tank stand could make one. I'd obviously use more reinforcement that the MDF stands that are about

I only know that a litre ways practically the same as 1kg

I watched this video and the made my own rack. It was a lot easier to do a dado-joint build than the rack I tried to make before.

The most important thing you want to keep in mind is that its always best to have wood holding up wood, not screws holding up wood. So you want legs under the frame, not shelves hanging from uprights. A dado joint is a good way to have both.

check out craigslist i got a 35 gallon tank + stand for only 40 or 60 bucks totally worth it, only problem i had is the light was bad so i replaced the bulb for $10 and start for $4

get 3 people to sit on it make sure they weigh roughly the same weight of the tank and just look for and bowing in the wood will give you a rough idea
