I know this is a hard one to judge as I can't show you the tank in person but I'll describe the situation.

I've got 2 tanks that I could put my new male betta in, a 2gal or a 14gal - both are the same temp and chemical levels are identical, the big difference is the lighting - there is none in the 2 gal.

I have a Rio 90 internal filter in the 2gal which creates very little current and I have a fluval 204 in the 14gal with a spraybar pointing to the back of the tank - this does create a bit of movement but nothing that I would consider sudden.

I have noticed you can see his lovely tails moving from the slight current - is he going to be ok in there or would you suggest putting him back in the 2gal?

It's probably not the easiest question to ask as I appreciate you can't see him - all I can say is he's not being blasted around the tank but he's not perfectly still either (he does have a cave).

Is it usual for them to cram themselves in a corner, almost jamming themselves next to a filter or thermostat?

I'll be adding some tankmates shortly, from the advice I received here I'll be putting some panda cories, a shoal of neons (8 or so) or some balloon mollies, something along that line - I understand guppies won't be any good - the males at least.

I really apreciate the quality advice from this forum, especially from the betta pages! Saved me making big mistakes!!!!!

THANK YOU!
