My new betta, Ive had for 3 days now is acting strange, He was rescued from a LFS and he has been happy, eating well etc.

Today I noticed he has Ich, which is from the LFS as the other bettas had this, and Hoggle my betta did not, I thought, he didnt appear to have at time of sale..
He is in quarantine in a contained .5 gallon tank, floating on top of my community tank before I move him into a larger tank awaiting him when he is out of qt & heals..

anyway, I have a live plant in there for him to *lay* on, but I am wondering if this is odd behavior.. It is floating on the surface.. and he was laying on it and the top of his head (not mouth) is slighty poking out of the water.. I put my finger in there and nudged him as I was horrified he was dead, he swam around the tank normally and came back to the top and properly and most purposely positioned himself on the plant...

Now with him having Ich, and doing this, is it normal behavior.. as i am yet to see him rest on a plant..

The temp is set at 80 and I will be treating him in the morning..

Please help me fix my Betta :byebye:

TIA

He's probably just taking it easy. Those long fins of his can wear a guy out. IMO it's not really anything to worry about.

Good Luck with treating the ich.
