ive got an albino tiger barb which was introduced along with 7 others in to my community of 6 present tiger barbs i just noticed today that its stomoach is rather large bigger than the others and is using much more energy than others to swim i cant see any scales poking out any ideas whats wrong?

I'm assuming you thought of dropsy because you said no scales pointing out but to be honest they don;t usually pine-cone untill its to late to treat them anyway!!! treat with anit-bacterial just in case because tiger barbs don't get pregnant. They just lay eggs!!

I have the same thing occur to one of my Tiger Barbs. She's still doing fine, water quality is great. Only thing I could think of, is that she is full of eggs, however the water conditions aren't acidic, or soft enough for her to lay them.
Hopefully it isn't anything serious.

Can you get any pics of the fish? Female tiger barbs often get rather fat when they mature, however bloating can also be a symptom of disease as well.

Wish I found this advice a long time ago lol I lost an albino tiger barb about a month ago and it bloated up like a pinecone and died within 24 hours of doing so :( wish I had noticed earlier
