And if it appears that they all have room to swim around, and they don't show sickly signs or depression then I'd say you're fine. If you're worried then just don't add more fish.

If you start finding hidden bottles of vodka around the tank, I would say that is a sure sign...! I guess depression means that the fish will not be acting in its normal manner, i.e. hiding more often, and not being as active.. Squid
