I have a 40 gallon brackish tank that has 2 knight gobies, 1 dalmation molly and 3 orange chromides. I just got the chromides a week ago and am wondering if I can/should get more or if I'm done.

I think I have 2 females and a male. The one that I think is a male has red markings on his eyes and seems more colorful in general then the other two. At first they all seemed to hang out together, but I think that he and one of the girls has paired off and they zoom around the tank together, but the other female kind of hangs toward the back in the plants. I was wondering if it would be ok to try to get a male for her or if I should just leave it as it. If I did get a male would they necessarily be compatible? Do I have enough territory space?

Thanks!

You are not overstocked, you have plenty of stocking space left. Another male chromide would probably do no harm, the pair will probably spawn. If no fish are fighting then you do not have a territory problem. IMHO you could get another orange chromide, another 2 mollies, and a shoal of glassfish.

Ok thank you :) It still seemed pretty empty but I just wanted to make sure. Nobody's fighting, and in fact I think the molly is being less of a bully now that there are more fish. I'll go to the lfs today and see what they got in last night. I do have a baby molly that'll probably go in once it's bigger than a goby's mouth. It's around 7 months old, but I think it's still too small. Thanks again!
