Is My Plec A L038?

Hi, i hope you can help

i brought this little fella for 6 pounds as the l128 i wanted was a rather lot more in my LFS but fell in love with him stright away

the lable said it was a l038 but looking at others im not so sure, can anyone confirm, also any more details on him as i cant find alot about this one

Nope i'm afraid not, your plec is a pterygoplichthys gibbiceps (L83) ..AKA... sailfin/leopard plec ... very common plec that can reach very big sizes.

You sure the label didn't read L83?

Thats definitely not a L038, they have stripes. It does loook like a Sailfin Pleco

My first thought was a gibbiceps; I'd take it back if I were you

83 looks spot on to be fair

it might of been that number and i got it muddled up as it was dark in there and busy lol

i brought him for the looks not the number so wont be taking him back, the tank is 55gal so should be fine for a while right?
