Hi, I have a 45 US Gallon tank (180L), it contains real plants and I have 2 air pumps blowing air from the gravel base upwards. There are about 30 inch size fish. All the fish seem fine.

I have just done my weekly 25% water change and all my tests.

My PH is 7.9 which I think is a little high.
My Nitrite is 0.1 mg/l shows as very slight pink.
My Nitate shows up fine.

Is it a case of doing an extra water change mid week?

Thanks

Andy

that seem ok to me mine r 8 atm on my 25g but cardinal and neon r still happy and healthy some time rather let it be then try to change it with chemical or other stuff.

If you are buying most of your fish locally the likelihood is that the shops ph will be similiar to yours so ph of 7.9 shouldnt present any problems for most community fish IMO .Fiddling about with chemicals to try and lower it may do more harm than good.My own ph from the tap is 7.8 and I keep danios/bn plecs/opaline gourami/cherry barb and gold rams in a 4ft and havent lost any yet
Watch that nitrite though as it should read 0 if the tank is cycled
