hey,
Everytime aftr my oscar gets fed he goes to the bottom and lies on his side, vibrating his tail, but when i either go up to the tank or open the lid he comes shooting up to the top of the surface thinking he's going to be fed again. Hope someone can help or explain what this bhavior means.

Only the last 20mins iv just fed him then hes gone like this he did it yestrday as well iv been watching and keping a eye on him and it looks like hes having some sort of fit :( he trys to get up a swim around and hes 2 side fins start going mad and thats then he gose to the bottom and just sits there vibrating his tail, iv done a water test and my nitrite is 0 my ammonia is 0 my nitrate is 5 and PH is 7.5 also my other oscar has doubled in size since ive had him but this one has only grown a tiny bit, would this be sign that somethings wrong?

are they in the same tank together?

what size is the tank or tanks?

what else is in there with them?

also has the fish always been as dark as this?

Looks like a victim of bullying to me I would move him to a tank on his own if it were me

A miss match in sizes between Oscars usually ends up being fatal

They are both in the same tank I have not got a spare to but him in on he's own :( and the ttank he's in is 4foot and he's tank mates are 2 silver sharks 2 pictus catfish one pleco

And they swim together all the time and have been fine together for 2months and iv been watching him and nothing is bothering him he only duz this after he's eat :(

Iv just shut the tank lights off and he got up off the bottom and he is know swimming around with the other oscar know he looking much better :)

Why do oscar change in colour is it there mood they go dark and light in colour why is this do you know ?

Stress illness sulking or breeding are usually the reasons

What are the tank measurements 2 in a four foot is pushing boundaries and I would not be surprised if the larger is hell bent on destroying the ne in question

Because the bigger one always changes in colour ever since I have had him and so does my firemouth but this is mostly on the night ttime and the tanks size is 4foot long by 18 wide by 18 tall

sorry to say but the tank is no way big enough for 2 oscars and im confident enough to say aggression is the cause

Silver sharks in a 4 footer too?

Why dont people do some research :|
I think this guy wanted to get tinfoil barbs, bala sharks, and a arowana for a 100 gal tank. I'm not expert, but I highly doubt a 100g is big enough for those either.
