I think my female molly is pregnant! She has been pooping a lot recently and really aggressive toward other fish. But all mollies poop a lot so I am confused regarding when she is going to drop the fry. She is fairly young and she looks round when I look at her from the top and i also think her belly is squared enough.

She has been in my tank for 5 weeks. Her name is Captain and she has one black eye and one regular eye! Haha she is pretty darn cute

Any idea when she will give birth?

She looks gravid (pregnant) and ready to drop in the next few days.
Make sure she is not stressed out. Have lots of plants for her and the babies to hide in. Maybe move the male into a separate tank for a few weeks so she doesn't have to deal with him.

Fish pooping has nothing to do with being full of eggs or babies.

Yay!! Thanks so much for the reply!! I have a qt tank where im treating a sick fish.. should i move the male into a bucket with aerator and heater for a couple days? Also i dont want to use the breeding box cuz i heard its really stressful for fish. Can I just catch the fry with a net and place them in another bucket? I have two 5 gal buckets and two 2.6 gal buckets.

If you move the male out, put him in a decent size container with filter, heater and some plants and keep him away from the female for at least 1 week after she has given birth.

Use a plastic container like a cup to scoop the babies out and put them in a breeding net or spare tank that has an established sponge filter and heater in. Don't scoop babies or pregnant mothers out with a net because you can damage them.
