Hi guys just a quickie .

35gal tank , is 40cm deep

In it is a singal 30inch t8 bulb rated at 16000k. Alot of times ive read the 6500k is sufficent enough?

Am i ok with what i got or shout i get a 6500k as it seems thats what everyone is using

A single T8 light is low lighting, so yea it's fine.

Hi thanks for the quick reply :D

Could you tell me if it is sufficent enought for plant growing

Get the watts and divide them by the gallons, and I think I read somewhere to times it by 1.25 and then that is your watts per gallon, or something like that. I think you times it by 1.25 because the wpg rule/guideline was made for T12 bulbs, and T8 are slightly more powerful. I can't remember where I saw it though which is annoying.

Tek oot.

The 16000K is called the color temperature of the bulb. The bulb is probably too blue in color. The suns color temp is around 5500K. So a 6500K bulb will be closer to the actual sun than the 16000K bulb.
