This is a young skirted tetra. I'm not sure what the white swirls on his head and behind his eye are though. Is this a parasite?

Looks to possibly be a worm maybe... What are your water parameters using a liquid drop test kit?

Water parameters are as follows
pH 7.2
Ammonia 0.00 ppm
Nitrite 2.0 ppm
Nitrate 5.0 ppm

I know the nitros are high and will start doing daily water changes to bring them into check.

Any suggestions on worms treatments?

It depends on what exactly they are. For intestinal worms, there are meds that kill flat worms, meds that kill round worms and meds that kill both, for example. But external worms?

Are the worm things flat on the skin or inside a raised bubble? Do they look like the photos in this old thread?

It seems to be inside a bubble.
It looks exactly like that picture

There doesn't seem to much info out there on dermosporidia, but the consensus seems to be that it can't be treated and will go away by itself.

Another thread I've just found, a bit more recent than the last one

Are you sure its

Are you sure its in a bubble? When I was looking at the photo and zoomed in on the fish's back, that worm seemed exposed... But maybe its the way the picture is...
