I just got my first tank about 2 weeks ago and I got my first bottom feeder today. I didn't know what it was called so I researched and found it was a Bristle Nose ;) . But, I also saw on the page that a swollen belly could mean the fish has a parasite in it. I looked at my fish and saw a pretty fat belly :( . Is he sick or is it normal for a Briste Nose to be fat?? What should I do if he is sick?? Thanks for responding.

yeah i dont have a camera... he is really small like 1.5 or 2 inches and his stomach is about the size of a pea. I might just be paranoid but this is my first tank. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Difficult one to call. Is it feeding well, and if so, what on? Are its eyes sunken in its sockets at all? And is it quite active or pretty sluggish? :)

I have also read that a very good indicator of a pleco's health is his eyes. I believe that right above them there is a open spot in its skull that will "sink" if under nourished or sick.
