Is my betta ill?

I got my betta last sunday and for the first few days he was perfectly happy and active and even made a bubble nest, but for the past day or so hes been just laying on the bottom or staying right near the surface and generally not swimming about or doing anything. He is eating but not as much as he was. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong or what I could do?

What kind of tank is he in and what temp is he kept at?

He's in a 5gln hex with temp of 26 degrees. The cory catfish I have dont seem to be getting on with him, could this be part of the problem?

That's strange. Bettas almost invariably do fine with Cory Cats. What species are your Cory Cats?

And, when you say they don't seem to be getting on, what precisely do you mean? What ARE they doing?
