Is It Worth Getting Computer Stuff?

Is it worth getting anything to put though a computer to help run a tank that will be 100 gallons.

if so what would be the best to buy?

Depends, how high-tech do you want to get? . I know lots of people that swear by electronic controllers for their tanks, and plenty that prefer to keep it simple.

well you could keep your money and buy more fish or other stuff

The more Hi Tech you get the more maintenance you need to perform. It should be the opposite but in reality those with electronic equipment spend more time tinkering than most. I know, I've seen it. It is nice to have but IMHO you dont really need it.
Just my opinion.
