I have two young male budgie's at the moment, one quite obviously a runt or something similar as it's smaller and skinnier. but i wasn't at all worried about it because it was always at the food and has built up quite a belly
But recently they've been fighting a bit and showing territory instinct which i fully understand as they may have just finished growing up.
The thing i'm confused about is... they've been covering the mirror toys with some kind of vomit? i think it' might be the blue marking his territory, but i'm pretty sure it hasn't been directing it's bum at the mirror so it's not how i would have expected. there was only one mirror, and a friend advised i put in another one so they both had one to look in. almost immediately after i put it in, the blue chased the green off the perch and spent about half an hour pecking and seemed like it was almost talking to itself in the mirror. when it came away i saw this stuff on it again and recently noticed some on the floor of the cage ( must have dribbled off?) it's like a creamy colour liquid?
any one know anything?
thanks, regards
