Width is fine, length is too small - I'd personally say he'd need a bigger tank asap (4-5ft), but I'm a perfectionist, and I'm sure with plenty of tank maintenance you could get away with it for a little while. But not long term.

Is there any particular reason why you have to get rid, rather than upgrade the tank?

well i live in uni halls and am limited to tank size. i used to have a 4ftx20x20 but no way would that fit.

from july when i live in a actual house im wanting to get a 4ft tank again.

do you think he will be ok until then?
