Going to put a betta in my classroom this year and I have a 2 gallon Aq. It has an under-gravel filter, which I don't really understand, but it is noisy because it bubbles all the time.

So...can I just keep the betta without a filter?

filtratoin is always a bonus for the tank, but bettas can live without it, just make sure you stay on top of those ewater changes ;)

I don't use filtration in any of my individual betta tanks, I just have to make sure I do very regular water changes (several times a week).

I dont uuse filtration either....But I do keep up with my waterchanges...

Also if u wanna give filtration get one of those small sponge-filters or an Azoo filter

I use filtration on one tank and my other bowl doesnt.

Bettas are tough little buggers... but to keep the bowl's water clean for longer periods of time, i would avoid flaked fish food.

and avoid cats.... damn cats.....
