Is It Ok To Ask Opinions Of Online Sites To Buy Fish From?

I live in a smaller town that has no pet stores, the closest place that has fish is about 25 miles away. I do not care for the privet owned shop (anytime I get fish there, they all die and so do most of my fish I already have) and the other shop is a chain store and while they have nice fish, the fish section employees are not nice. The next closest town that has any fish is 40 miles away. It is the same chain store for pets, but the people who work there are way way way nicer. However for me to drive that distance, it is not something I can do very often. So I end up buying most of my fish online.

I have two places I use, but have found another online place. I would like to ask if anyone has had experiences with that place and how it is, but do not know if it is ok to do so. It has several more colors of the fish I have (platies/moons) and some of the plecos I want.

My tank is a 30 long, has: platies, black neon tetras, long fin black skirt tetras, about three cory cats, and currently one regular pleco (about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long). I have about six platies, 10 of the black skirts, and 10 of the black neon.

All the tetras are pretty small at this point. I had to replace all my tetras, cause my ones I had for a couple years were all killed a few weeks ago. I lost most of the fish in my tank. It was doing fine, and then all of a sudden the temp went sky high. I didn't know about it till a few days later. I had foot surgery and was not able to get around, and when I could get to the room my tank was in, was when I found almost everyone dead. And my tank was a disaster! Got new heater, major water changes first day or two, then 1/4 over the next two weeks. Once that was straightened out, and all water was ok, then I did binox and parasite guard on the few remaining fish. (three platies) They were fine and nice and spry after all that. I once again slowly introduced the tetras.

I am going to be ready to add a few platies in about another week. I have found a website that has some that I love the coloring. But I've never bought from them, and had never heard of them. Before I would buy from them, I'd like to know other people's experiences with them.

Ask away, I guess, but I don't know which section would be best.

If you get plecos, keep in mind that they are territorial, and need caves and bogwood, so in a tank that size, your choice would be limited depending on the bottom area and the number of caves you provide.

Thanks. I have purchased several times from both petsolutions and liveaquaria, but have found a place named AquariumFish.net. I was wondering if anyone has used them or know of them? And how is their reputation or what experiences have you had with them. It is ok to privet message me with your answer.

Thanks for the info about the plecos. I know they are territorial. I only want to get one more to put in with the one little one I currently have. I have a structure of three large stones (about size of cantaloupe each) that make up a couple nice 'cave' type of area and the other end of the tank I have 4 or 5 drift wood all grouped and piled up and it has bunches of hiding areas and 'cave' like places. I also have a preformed resin cave kind of decoration in the middle of my tank. And lots and lots of silk plants. Very heavily planted with silk plants.

You might want to edit your original post to indicate the name of the place you're asking about :)

You should look at getting the same species pleco as you already have, I'm sure the other one would appreciate the company, if it's one of the smaller species. If it's a larger species, then one of a different species would be best, to reduce aggression.
