Is It Hard To Tell A Rubbernose From A Bristlenose?

Hi, i just read in the 'FAQ' section, the article 'which algae eater to get?'

It had a picture of a rubbernose cat, which looked Very similar to my cat (which i bought as a bristlenose). My bristlenose is around 2.5" and has no bristles on its nose what so ever. So im just assuming its a female.

I also checked in the Fish index, but the pictures of the rubbernose they look different to mine.

Which is the rubbernose index profile.

So how do i tell which one i have?
 
Hi,

There are several different fish which fall under the category rubber nose, the two main ones sold are the spotted and the striped (chaetostoma milesi and chaetostoma thomasi). Check out www.planetcatfish.com in the catelogue section for pics. The main difference is the width of the nose, on rubbernose's its twice as wide as the bristlenose.
