I had hear someone mention using a hot glue gun to make plants. Has anyone actually done this or was it just and idea? I wonder if it would seep chemicals into the water. Any input would be great :dunno:

I don't think hot glue would work in a tank. It would probably contaminate the water and might not hold up when submersed. The only glue to use in aquariums is silicon glue and only silicon glue that is rated for aquarium use. Any thing else would probably be bad for the fish.

Hi TheWaterBoy :)

Here's an article that discusses anchoring plastic plants. I just thought you might find it interesting since it is related to your idea. Unfortunately, it doesn't shed much light on the hot glue question.

I think that there is some other kind of adhesive that would be safer in an aquarium, though.
