Is He Shy

i got an african peacock yesterday and all he`s done so far is hide behind some plants. is this normal or will he get used to it and come out when he`s ready?

i just added some some fish to my 52 gallon, 2 of them are hidding them coming out, leave the light off for a while until they decide to come out. hes properbly shy. do you have any large aggressive fish in the tank?, if so then that might explain why. but usualy for the first week fish will be a little bit weary because its all new, after all if you were taken away from your friends and put into a tank with new tankmates wouldn't you be alittle affraid?

When you introduce them it may take a bit for them to adjust. Keep the lights off for a little while, and try not to disturb the tank to much. Also be sure you have plenty of hiding places for them And feed as you usually do. Within 2 days he should show up more and more.
