is he happy?

Is Max happy? He's in a ten gallon, with 2 otos. He did have a bubblenet at the LFS in his cup o' water, but hasn't built one in his new home. Also, he's refusing his bio-gold bites, opting for the otos' algae tabs instead . Is there any behaviour I should look for that shows happy/unhappy?? Normally he's swimming/exploring around, weaving around plants and pots.

sounds like he's happy... the reason there's no bubblenest is probably that the water flow from your filter is preventing him from building one. I have Fiodore in a 25 gallon community tank and he zips all over the tank but usually hangs out towards the top in this mass of floating plants. When I had him in a 1 gallon bowl he always had a bubble nest, but he seemed rather inactive.

I turned the filter down to the least amount of flow possible. What kind of plants are good to float?
